Services of the Economic
Development Council
The Council will
develop and implement programs for regional
economic development in Boise and Valley County. Specific services will
be provided in the following areas:
A. Data
Assemble and
distribute data as appropriate concerning the
labor market, demographic data, wages and
salaries, utility costs, transportation and
traffic flow, climate and the quality of
life.
B. Building and Land Inventory
Facilitate the
establishment and growth of businesses by
preparing current building and land inventory
reports.
C. Promotion
Promote Boise and Valley Counties as an ideal place to do
business by reaching targeted industries and firms
with persuasive communications and promotional
materials.
D. Property Information Packets
Prepare information
packets consisting of property profiles,
aerial photos, plats, information about
restrictive covenants, pricing information,
traffic flow data, and other essential facts.
E. Requests
Respond to requests
from businesses for information about doing
business in Boise and Valley Counties and follow up with
personal communications and confidential site
visits.
F. Recruitment
Actively recruit
manufacturing and service firms that meet the
area’s requirements for preserving the
quality of life. Prepare recruitment packages
related to the prospective company’s strategic
plan, feasibility study, site location
information, available human resources, and costs
of doing business.
G. Financial Analysis and Loans
Evaluate financial
statements of prospective companies to ascertain
profit (loss) performance, financial condition,
and cash flow. Work with local banks and
regional organizations to arrange financing
including startup capital, revolving loan funds,
small business loans, debt and equity
financing, and venture capital.
H. Site Acquisition
Assist developing
companies in examining and acquiring suitable land
and buildings. Provide companies with information
regarding the infrastructure, cost and extent of
available utilities, as well as environmental
issues, building codes, and planning and zoning
restrictions.
L. Confidentiality
Maintain
confidentiality regarding possible decisions that
could affect the price of property, limit the
sharing of such information to state, county and
